Dorothy (Dotty) Paley's Obituary
Dotty Paley, born in White Plains, New York, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2026, at the age of 96. Survived by her loving and devoted children Valerie Paley Hornik and Mark Paley who passionately took care of her over the last 8 years after her beloved husband of 53 years passed, the great and wonderful, Seymour Paley.
Dotty was loved by all who were lucky enough to meet her and to get to know her. She had a kind soul, loving heart and a great sense of humor. We would often joke about funny things she would say, even in her last days.
She didn’t have a selfish bone in her body. When we made her something to eat, she wouldn’t eat before asking if you had something to eat too, and if not, she wanted to give you hers as she wanted you to eat first. Always thinking about others before herself in any situation.
She loved the arts. She started painting, taking painting classes in her early years. She then started creating table art and took some sculpture classes. Her last years of art creations were making earrings. Always having a creative mind and designing beautiful pieces of Art.
Dotty loved life, loved her family and was a blessing to all of us. She will truly be missed. May she rest in peace and reunite with her husband, sisters, mother and father and all the wonderful cousins who have preceded her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dotty may be sent to the following charity: Chabad Chayil, 2601 NE 211 Terrace, Miami, FL 33180, https://ChabadChayil.org/Partner.
