Kalimi, Randi's Obituary
Randi Baron Kalimi, beloved wife of Sami for 50 years, was born in Philadelphia on August 17, 1951 to the late Louis & Joan. Randi moved as a child to Miami Beach where she lived the rest of her life with Sami.
Devoted Mother of Kelli Schnurman (David) & Ari Kalimi (Jenny). Loving Grandmother of Joshua, Leila, Jonah, King & Marley. Dear sister to the late Wendy Jones.
She graduated from Miami Beach Senior High in 1969. Then attended Florida International University and became a teacher.
She met the love of her life, Sami, in Miami Beach in 1974. They fell deeply in love and married in December 1975. They spent many years enjoying life, traveling together with the family to Israel, countless cruises, and visiting their daughter, Kelli and her family, in New York.
Randi and Sami helped her parents run the Original Miami Beach Antique Shows for many years. She prided herself on her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of them and their accomplishments.
Randi was affectionately known as “Mama Affect” to many. The name coming from her son, DJ Affect. Randi’s home was a revolving door. She made everyone and anyone who entered feel loved and welcomed. She was not only the matriarch of the Kalimi clan, but to people all over Miami, and truly to people all over the world.
In recent years, Randi was confined to her home due to health issues. She didn’t let that stop her infectious spirit. She continued to host Friday night Shabbat, amongst many other countless dinners with the help of Nolvia, Nancy and Sami. She made every excuse to throw a party and was always the life of the party!
Randi touched all who knew her and she always had a solution to any problem that came her way.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Randi’s memory may be made to Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
The family is grateful for all of the outreach, love and support during this difficult time.
We love you forever Mama!
