Sylvia "Sue" Leiba's Obituary
Sylvia “Sue” Leiba, 89, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Sue was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 13th 1937. She was the loving daughter of Allen and Alice Abrams and the beloved wife of the late Max Leiba. She was a devoted mother to Ronald (Tammy) Rubel, Steve Rubel, Barry Leiba (Marilyn Auerbach). Grandma Sue was a treasured grandmother to Alyssa Rubel and an awesome bonus grandmother to Benjamin Auerbach (Katye Ellsworth), Dan Auerbach (Lisa Western), Elyse Dennington, and Margaret Leiti; and a beloved great-grandmother to Dorothy Ellsworth-Auerbach.
Sue lived her life with grace, warmth, and a deep love for her family and Jewish faith.
Sue will be fondly remembered for her love, her strength, and the beautiful way she made everyone feel welcome. Her home and heart were always open, and she was loved by many friends who shared in her active social life. She especially enjoyed playing canasta, mahjong, and Rummikub, and those times brought her great happiness and lasting friendships. She brought joy to those around her through her kindness, her sense of humor, and the genuine interest she showed in the lives of others.
The family will forever cherish Sue’s memory and wishes to express their deepest love and gratitude for the comfort, support, love, laughter, wisdom, and togetherness she gave so freely.
Her legacy of love, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 Northwest 25th Street, Doral, Florida 33172. Arrangements are by Alexander-Levitt Memorial Chapel (954) 721-2500.
