Teddy M. Cohn's Obituary
Teddy M. Cohn, 94 of Aventura, Florida passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Myrna Cohn, loving father of Dana Cohen (Robert). Raised in Far Rockaway, he was a proud graduate of the University of Arizona and Adelphi College School of Business, Class of 1953. He served honorably with the Army of Occupation in Europe before embarking on a remarkable career in finance. As president of the stock-option brokerage firm Cohn, Ivers & Co. and of the Optimum Fund, he was a true pioneer in the development of puts and calls during the 1960s.
In 1962, he married his beloved Myrna, his partner in life and love, who preceded him in passing in 2007. While he had a passion for business, politics, fine dining, and tennis—though not necessarily in that order—nothing ever compared to the deep connection he shared with Myrna and their daughter, Dana.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Dana, who resides in Aventura, Florida.
He had a rare gift for conversation and connection, able to speak with anyone about anything. Age was never a barrier—he remained endlessly curious, engaged, and relevant throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
We can only hope that he and Myrna are reunited—dancing to “Fly Me to the Moon,” in between tennis matches and enjoying a perfect steak dinner together once again?"
